Art and Culture in the Everyday – A Closer Analysis

This assignment builds on both of your discussions from this week. Reflect on your contributions, and choose one of this week’s required readings from One World, Many Cultures. Analyze the chosen reading in greater detail. Explain how the story relates to the idea of artistic expression in the everyday life and culture of the individuals discussed in the story. 

Part of your paper must also compare your personal experience and/or the culture(s) in which you live compare(s) to that of the characters in the chosen reading. Remember that you must provide a careful analysis of and details from the reading itself. When discussing your personal experience and/or culture, be sure that you do so in a way that enhances your analysis of the reading. Go beyond just speaking in generalities. You may also wish to discuss how you related personally to the work you have chosen.

The paper should be two  pages in length (excluding APA title and reference pages). The paper must have a main idea (thesis statement) that is supported by the entire discussion of the topic. Support the central point with details from the reading and analysis of those details. Resources must be cited in text and on the reference page.
