Consider the music, art, sculpture, architecture, literature, and philosophy that have been covered during this course. Thinking back to what you have learned, what do you consider to be the most profound change in Western culture from 1500 to the present? In a 3-4 page essay, argue your decision, making the connection from whatever your selection is to the present day. In your essay, you should mention at least two works that you believe serve as excellent examples of your answer. These works may be western or non-western. If you are using a medium that can be expressed visually, include illustrations. If you select music, refer to specific songs (the music CD included with the textbook may be used as a resource).
