Part I- Directions: After you have read the following two articles, write a short essay (i.e. roughly 2 pages, 500 words) where you: (i) explain the arguments contained in each article and state the arguments in premise-conclusion format; (ii) identify whether the arguments are deductive or inductive, and state why (iii) Evaluate the arguments and indicate which article has stronger arguments and why, (iv) Be sure to indicate whether the articles contain any rhetorical devices/ fallacies.

Example for premise-conclusion format:

The author’s arguments contain many premises which essentially boil down to the same conclusion: that prostitution should be legalized. Premise 1: Sex is a physiological need. Premise 2: Prostitution can fulfill that physiological need for those who would otherwise not be having sex. (Unstated) Premise3: All human physiological needs should be met. Conclusion: Therefore, prostitution should be legalized because it would satisfy a basic physiological necessity for those who need it. This argument can best be described as an inductive argument.
