• As I said before, there is no absolute minimum or maximum length for the essay. However, for students in ESLL 026, a minimum of 300 words is recommended.

• You may use pen or pencil. You may skip lines on your paper, but it is not mandatory.

• You are able to use the articles you are analyzing during the test, as well as any annotations that you made on the articles.

• Although you do not have to use strict MLA format, you should be able to properly use in-text citations in your paper, such as including the author and title of the article you are citing.

• You do not need a Works Cited page or a title on the first page.

• The essay is due at the end of the class, which will give you 110 minutes to write.
