POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT

THE ASSIGNMENT:

You will write and record a political announcement of 20-30 seconds in duration and upload the video to YouTube.  The announcement will be for a political candidate of your choice (either fictional or real).  You will briefly explain your candidate's position on an environmental issue of your choice, and compare it to his opponent's position.  You must be persuasive, concise, and accurate in your use of environmental examples/statistics in the announcement.

GRADING CRITERIA:

You will be graded on (each is worth 5 points):

                _____  The persuasiveness of the announcement.

                _____  Its environmental basis and purpose.

                _____  Your use of environmental data to support #2.

                _____  Your oral presentation.

                _____  The quality of the written transcript of the commercial you turn

                            in immediately after the oral presentation.
