Introduction
The completion of the Critical Review Paper is a multi-week project. The specific completion schedule is:

Week 2: The Topic Selection and Formal Outline
Week 3: Annotated Bibliography
Week 4: Critical Review Paper

This week you will begin by selecting a topic and creating an annotated bibliography.

Activity Instructions
Step 1 – List References: Create a references list for the sources you will use in the critical review paper. Standard guidelines for developing references include:

• All references must be cited in APA format.
• Minimum of 4 sources
• Minimum of 2 recent (since 2000) academic journal articles integrated into the paper.
• Minimum of 2 electronic sources (web citations) integrated into the paper.
• Electronic sources must be .edu, .gov, or .org in order to be acceptable
• References must be listed in alphabetical order according to author’s last name
• References should be double spaced and utilize hanging indentation format using word processing software.

The final draft of the critical review paper is an expansion of the material presented throughout the course and should represent student perspective blended with scholarly material.

Step 2 – Annotate (Explain): Beneath each reference citation, write a few sentences explaining the main ideas of this source and how it will be used in your paper. Spell check references and annotations prior to submitting.

Writing Requirements (APA format)

• 1-2 page (approx. 300 words per page), not including title page or references page
• 1-inch margins
• Double spaced
• 12-point Times New Roman font
• Title page with topic and name of student
• References page (4 resources)
