Analytical Report Project on how technology is changing us socially and apply IT experience from grad school.

Genre and Length: Your assignment is to write a 9-10-page analytical report that provides information, analysis, and recommendations concerning a problem that you identify on the Valparaiso University campus or in a specific industry. Approximately five of the pages will be front or back matter; the rest will be the main body of the report.

Audience: You will need to identify primary and secondary decision-makers who have the power to take action on your problem. Address the report to that person or those people.

You will need to analyze this audience and anticipate what concerns, knowledge, and experience decision-makers have related to your topic. Use you-attitude, positive emphasis, sound logic, strategic organization, and credible research to gain the attention, trust, and respect of your audience.  The challenge is especially great because your proposal is unsolicited.

The report must include a cover page, memo of transmittal, table of contents, executive summary, introduction, at least two visuals, headings, attention to the document’s organization and visual design, conclusions and recommendations, a running footer with title and page number, a works cited or references page, appendices with your primary research tools and data, and impeccable editing and proofreading.

The report should:

·         be single-spaced,

·         written in business format,

·         have an appropriate cover memo and title page,

·         be segmented with proper subordination of subsections,

·         include both in-text references and a References list page (APA format) and

·         include a list of additional resources as an appendix.

Types of information to consider including:

1.       Definition and explanation of the situational problem you will address

2.       Who is affected by this problem?

3.       How much money or man power will it cost to find a workable solution to this problem.

4.       Will solving the problem result in generating revenue for the University?  Or what impact will it have on the occupational community you are addressing

5.       Resources

Specifications:

·         Follow general Formal Report Design

·         Single-spaced, block/business format

·         Times New Roman (or similar) 12-pt Font, 1-inch Margins

·         APA Style References: minimum 6 quality research sources (not google searches – you will need to look a journals, articles, etc.)

·         Body of report to be 4-6 pages in length at minimum, excluding title page, References page(s) and appendices (complete report will be 9-10 pages in length).

·         Include additional resource list as appendix
