American History
Students are required to submit a 5 (NOT 4 1/2) to 6 page typed paper (double-spaced) on any historical aspect of the (USA) American experience: person, event, or social movements for the period covered (1607-1870) in the course (25% of the Final Grade). The paper must include MLA notation style and a separate or additional bibliography page/work cited page is required. You will also be required to use at least five sources for your paper (books, article, journals, etc). The uses of comic books, children's literature, history class textbooks or general encyclopedias are prohibited. Anthologies and the articles therein, however, are allowed as references. No Internet* sources will be permitted.
There are plenty of books and articles from historical journals and magazines. *If the online sources have: name of author(s), are peer review articles/journals, with the name of publication, date of publication, and page(s), then yes they are acceptable. Otherwise, do not use them. I chose Benjamin Franklin
