What better a way to display “Professionalism” than Literature Review Week! Turning in great work, edited, making changes from previous assignments, all of these are examples of how your work displays your professionalism. Adding in research versus opinion is another distinct way to show you are a professional. This is your major assignment for the class so there are a few things to pay careful attention to:

Please make sure you put LITERATURE REVIEW or ALTERNATIVE ASSIGNMENT on the title page.

Whether you are on the alternative assignment path or literature review path, the tips are essentially the same:

Most importantly- don't plagiarize. Cite when necessary, if in doubt- cite, and don't put anything in your references you didn't cite in your paper.

Also as important, don't summarize. This is not a paper where you pick a topic and summarize articles. It's the opposite. You should have found articles and created a list of themes from those articles. So you discuss the themes, citing the articles within those themes. You should have a minimum 10 citations, and realistically that should be a minimum of around 15-20. Stray from direct quotes- you only want those to be 10% of a paper. And remember your APA for formatting.

This is a formal paper, so your opinions are valid but don’t include them or personal stories unless absolutely necessary (this means no I, we, you, us, etc either).
