Note from instructor: You should used at least two readings identified in the assignment to deal with the question of the demands revolving around the call for Black Power or Self-Determination.  The Civil Rights Movement was at a fork in the road as young people in SNCC, CORE, later, the Black Panther Party and RAM departed from the discourse on integration and liberalism and adopted Black Power and self-determination.  Basically, you are being asked to assess how the demands for black power/self-determination was a called for black participation into political decision-making processes through voting, political power at the local level, etc.
