 you will analyze THREE poems from our textbook.  Make sure the poems are at least eight lines long.  For EACH poem you have chosen, do the following:

1)  Identify the central THEME of the poem.  In other words, what is the overall point the poem is making.

2) Discuss at least THREE poetic techniques.  Use the terms discussed in our textbook.  For example, you might discuss the poem's imagery, form, and sound effects.

3) Make sure you indicate how each poetic technique contributes to (reinforces) the overall theme.
