This week's assigned essay topic is the Colorado “rebirthing therapy” case that held the public’s attention in 2000 and 2001.  We will be discussing it on the Week 7 forum.  
   

Your three to four page paper for this essay topic assignment should summarize the details of the case and identify three issues relevant to the field of psychology.  In this case two such issues might be, what are the pros and cons of non-traditional therapies (i.e. how might clients benefit from them and what in general about the nontraditional nature of the treatments might place clients more at risk than when they are experiencing traditional, mainstream therapies) and what would the American Psychological Association have to say about the use of nontraditional therapies in one’s practice and why?
