Read the article titled Moving Beyond “Dance, Dress, and Dining” in Multicultural Canada.

In a 3-4 page paper, briefly summarize the authors’ position on the additive approach to multicultural education (dance, dress, and dining; taco Tuesdays; heroes and holidays).  How can quality literature support the move toward a more critical and thoughtful approach to multicultural education?  

Select two titles of multicultural picture books that are appropriate for grades K-3.  The first title should address multiculturalism on a superficial level while the second should explore multicultural themes on a more meaningful level. Provide a rationale for your choices using direct quotations from each title to illustrate your arguments. Compare and contrast the two selections.

Support your position with references to the article, your text, and at least one additional source, using proper APA format. Must reference the two children's books in APA format in the reference section.
