In your initial 150-250 word post, explain what you think the moral or the theme of "The Rocking-Horse Winner" is.

Try not to fall back on a one-sentence cliche for your theme if possible. Whatever theme or moral you come up with, though, make sure you explain why you say that's the theme using examples from the story to support your answer. Remember that a moral from a traditional fairy tale would be something not just about the characters in the story but a life lesson that could apply to everyone. So what is Lawrence trying to say about life? Or what lesson do you think readers are supposed to get?
