Text Analyses.

Choose 2 texts from Oedipus (Theban Plays), Apology (The Trials of Socrates), Genesis(Holy Bible), Popul Vuh, and Ishmael, and write 2 analyses respectively. 

These writings do not have to be terribly formal – I just want to see that you are committed to reading, that you are engaging some of the ideas in the readings as best as you can, and that you are trying to discover how the ideas we are exploring may have relevance and meaning to your own life. I’m not really looking for summaries of the texts; what I’d really like to see is that something in the text has made you think about something outside of the text. These reflections will generally be open-topic, meaning that you will be free to write about whatever has provoked or inspired you the most in that given text. All writing assignments for this course should be composed in a Microsoft Word document with double-spaced, size 12 Times New Roman font.
