After reviewing the video, answer the following question Dr. Raine posed in the video. Then respond to another student's post and state whether you agree or disagree and expound on their discussion.
How do we deal with individuals who have all the biological, genetic and social boxes checked against them? How moral is it to punish those individuals the same if they appear lack the neuro-circuitry? Do you think there is such a thing as a biological or genetic criminal mind? When handing down sentencing should it really matter? Why or why not. Use information provided in the text and/or the video to support your answer. Respond to another student's post.

I feel the United States does a good job of punishing those who have all biological, genetic, and social boxes checked. In a court case, obviously those types of things are taken into consideration before anyone is sentenced. I do not think it is fair though when someone who can afford a lawyer and to have all sorts of tests done is proven not guilty versus someone who cannot afford those and has to defend themselves only by means of what they have to say. I feel it is moral to punish those the same way as any other criminal, if we did not, many people would try to claim insanity or lack of neuro-circuitry just to get out of sentencing. I know many do try to claim insanity when in court but really, there is no way to prove this if they cannot afford the lawyer and tests for it. I feel everyone should be punished the same, if they claim insanity or lack of neuro-circuitry, they should get the help they need while serving their punishment. As Dr. Raine said, they know right from wrong, so they should be punished as such even if they don't get the "right and wrong feeling." I do believe there is such a thing as a biological or genetic criminal mind but it should not be taken into consideration when handing down a sentence.
