Cell Membrane

After reviewing the videos on membranes and the recommended reading, Chapter 5, section “Membrane Structure and Function”, in Campbell Concepts & Connections, address the following points:

· Write a 250- to 300-word summary describing how oxygen moves into cells and how carbon dioxide moves out of cells.  Explain how water can be balanced between cells and how large molecules can be transported across membranes.

· In your response, use the terms: diffusion, permeability, concentration gradient, isotonic, hypotonic, hypertonic, osmosis, ATP, exocytosis, and endocytosis.
