Written assignment - Female Representation

I want you to think about the way women are portrayed in the popular culture that you consume. You can write about portrayals in film, Netflix shows, video games, books or any other mediums that you regularly engage with. 

Do you believe that the portrayals of women are generally positive or negative? Healthy or damaging? Empowering or disabling?

Any opinion is OK, but I want more than just opinion. Whatever point of view you express should be backed by evidence. Feel free to link to surveys or mediated examples in your post.
