“In American mass media, where the white male perspective is still presented as the standard, stereotypes of those who differ—women, ethnic minorities, and gays and lesbians—are an issue of ethical concern. Racial minorities are often absent, peripheral, or stereotyped in film, television, print media, advertising, and video games. Also, racial stereotypes occur in news reporting, where they can influence public perceptions.” What do you think should be done to eradicate stereotyping and improve media diversity?
