INSTRUCTIONS: A genogram is a helpful mapping tool that creates a visual representation of a family. In Week 1 you picked a family from a TV show or a movie. For this discussion, create a genogram for this family. Discuss how having a visual representation of this family helps you analyze it. After you have created the genogram for the family, discuss what you saw in the family system that you didn't see previously from a structural perspective (hierarchies, coalitions, alliances, triangles, and so forth).

 I have chosen the fictional family from the TV series "This Is Us." The Pearson family is a great choice for this class due to the complex and dynamic relationships among its members.

 The Pearson family consists of Jack and Rebecca Pearson and their three children: Kate, Kevin and Randall. The series focuses on their lives across different programs, offering a exploration into their personal lives. Jack is described as a committed father and husband, while Rebecca balances her role as a mother with her aspirations. Kevin and Kate are biological twins, and Randall is their adopted brother, adding an additional layer of complexity to the family dynamics.

The Pearson family has a wide range of relationships, including marital, sibling, and parent-child dynamics. Each member has a unique relationship with the others, allowing for an exploration of various family therapy concepts.
