Women, Gender, and the Civil Rights Movement Discussion

What new understandings of women's roles in the Civil Rights Movement (CRM) developed for you, now that you've read about women's participation,  contributions, experiences and leadership?

Reference two things you learned about the CRM and women or gender such as events, individual women, or primary source documents, important developments or contributions or other examples  (any mix of those) or more from your reading or viewing in the assigned materials in your response.
