Now, we will tackle our third major essay. For many, the Argumentative essay is a little more fun than the previous essays. This is because we will be writing on a subject we are interested in. To get started, follow the directions in the class’s main section, and pick an argument that you care about.

There are two ideas that you need to be mindful of in Module 4:


- First, we must remember that we are not summarizing one or both sides of a debate. We must pick one side that we support. Our essay will be about trying to convince the reader that our side is the correct side.

- Second, our Argumentative Essay has a new part to its structure. This refutation paragraph is highlighted in the diagram overview of the essay.
