My major: social science

The field of research known as statistics focuses on improving techniques for gathering and presenting empirical evidence. Research in statistics has broad applications throughout the scientific disciplines, and statistical methods and theory are often inspired by challenges posed in other disciplines. In my chosen major, social science, statistics plays a major role in this field.

For instance, The United Nations' Social Statistics Division uses social statistics to examine disparities across nations, including housing, health, education, and working and living circumstances (Amaya et al., 2021). Children, the elderly, the unemployed, and those with impairments are just a few categories whose circumstances receive special attention from the Division. Additionally, statistics are used in social science to compare the facts. Data collected before and after a policy change is implemented can be compared using social statistics. For instance, determining the extent of poverty necessitates collecting data and evaluating the efficacy and cost of a program designed to aid low-income families may necessitate the same.

Patterns and relations, Statistical analysis methods can be used in a diversity of contexts, comprising but not limited to connecting to people's reactions to several questions in a survey, accounting for aspects of people's situations like the joblessness rates of their local area; taking into account the educational principles of the class and school they are presently enrolled in; measuring change through longitudinal reviews where individuals are interviewed at dissimilar points in their lives (Mehmetoglu et al. 2022). You may use possibility tests to decide what causes a certain conduct or event. When controlling for dynamics such as age, family composition, level of education, work, and neighborhood security, do the elderly have a higher risk of feeling insecure than the young?
