A person's biological sex is his or her sex at birth which is determined by their genitalia. Gender refers to the characteristics of women and men based on social rules (Thomas & Thatcher Combs, 2019). A single story in the US I would say is that roughly in the mid 60’s up to the late 90’s it was expected that woman’s role were to be house wife’s and that the men would be the sole provides. Which in this current age that is no longer the case.     I learned to be the gender that I am from what I identify with, the way I was raised, and society. I would remember my mother telling me stories on how i would try her heels on has a kid just cause i used to see her all the time wearing them. Even though my father wanted a boy naturally I knew i was a girl everything that was feminine i liked even though he tried raising  me has a boy. However, don’t get me wrong I do enjoy some male activities such has football or getting dirty and doing maintenance on my car, I still prefer to be in a dress coveralls.    People in the US have at many times not accepted people who do not fit in gender roles. How I remember it in the U.S. when an individual does not fit into gender roles is they get hate crimes, judged, and many more. However, society has slowly change through the years and people are starting to accept different types of gender.
