Verification and Validation

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is concerned with the development of guidance and training relating to pricing in contractual agreements with Department of Defense (DoD) contractors. At the heart of pricing agreements is the Request for Information (RFI) process. Cost and pricing information provided by contractors in response to an RFI depends largely on that contractor’s past performance. Successful experiences in the areas of System Validation and Verification (V & V) associated with the SEMP are critical success factors in the Life Cycle of a System Engineering project. Assume the role of instructor in a V & V training course and prepare an introduction to this topic with respect to the SEMP and the RFI. You want to start by briefly explaining the importance of V & V in the SEMP and then you want to briefly describe how V & V experience needs to be highlighted in response to an RFI and why.
