theme paper for art class

THEME PAPER:  4 pages in length, Working with a single work of art in any medium from any historical period covered in chapters 16-20, select a theme from chapters 21-27 to guide your analysis. In addition, you must further guide your analysis with a thesis or a point of view supported by relevant research.  You should choose a work of art from the Chicago Art Institute or the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (or other museum web sites such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Getty Center, or the Louvre) though I would encourage you to visit the museum to study the work in person. You should read the relevant chapters on your theme and historical period to determine which questions are most appropriate to address in your analysis.
