Directions: 

1) Tour the CMS website on “Physician Self-Referral” at http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Fraud-and-Abuse/PhysicianSelfReferral/index.html 

2) Write a 1.5 -2 page paper addressing the following:

· What is the Stark Law 

· Who and what items or services does it apply to

· List the exceptions in which there would not be a risk for financial relationships or misuse of the patient.

· What are the consequences for violating this law

· Research a recent (2017-2020) Stark Law Case and summarize who was involved, what did they do to break the law, and what was the outcome of the case.
