These psychological barriers can reduce effort, increase anxiety, and even slow physical recovery if not properly addressed.

Drawing on the psychological issues of sport injury and rehabilitation outlined in the textbook, discuss the following in at least 300-350 words        (10 points):

1. Greatest Psychological Challenge: Which psychological factor (such as fear of failure, anticipation of re-injury, low self-confidence, or attentional shifts) do you believe has the greatest impact on an athlete’s recovery process, and why?
2. Role of Interventions: How might interventions like goal setting, relaxation training, mental imagery, or social support help athletes overcome these barriers? Provide specific examples of how these techniques could be applied in practice.
3. Support System: In your view, what role should coaches, athletic trainers, and teammates play in supporting the athlete’s psychological recovery, in addition to their physical rehabilitation? Consider the importance of communication, empathy, and maintaining the athlete’s sense of belonging to the team.
