Short Activity - The Red Scare

 The Red Scare began before the rise of Joseph McCarthy, but it also lived past his fall from power.  From your textbook reading and going through the videos and notes in the lesson, do you think that the Red Scare (i.e., the hunting for Communists) was an appropriate response to the ongoing issues of the time?  Were there elements of it that were justified or were unjustified?  Should it have been done in a different manner?  Do you think that the types of things done in the 1950s as part of the Red Scare could be done today if there was the proper stimuli?
