Retailing assignment

PART I: Retailers are locating in shopping centers and free-standing locations in central business districts that have suffered decay.  

Some of you mentioned last week that retail location isn't as important to consumers today thanks to e-Commerce. You also posted about new business Pop-ups and it was nice that someone responded having seen that Pop-Up blast year. Several of you also talked about the challenges of businesses focusing on sustainability and not delivering. A few of you had great exchanges as well! I hope to see the same this week! 

Remember, you don't have to agree all of the time. It's interesting to have honest discussions with opposing views as long as it's on topic and can be documented with a source of information.

Some central business areas are rejuvenating, a process known as gentrification, see chapter text for definition.  

Some people have questioned the ethical and social ramifications of this process.
