Good work on your post!  Helen B. Mitchell says that utilitarianism is "the theory that an action is right if it seeks to promote the greatest amount of happiness in the world at large" (402).  You mentioned famine.  One way to eliminate hunger would be to execute everyone who is hungry, thus eliminating hunger from the world.  Would this be an ethical action according to utilitarianism?  According to deontology?  Why, or why not?
