A simple definition of opportunity cost is something that is given up. I believe that the opportunity cost for attending college would be the loss of a full time job. There are days where I wonder what it would be like to have a full time job in this season of life and making more money than I am right now, but I know that college will pay of in the long run. However, it is easy to visualize what it would be like to have a higher income and more of a stable life especially when you see it from others.
College comes with a lot of debt for most people, which also makes a full time job even more pleasing to the eye. While money is one thing that is given up, I also find myself too busy at times to have a social life. College is demanding and it seems to me like it's never-ending, but I do believe that I'll have a better future once it's all said and done.
