Product Comparison
Select one “big ticket” consumer product category (excluding clothing) and compare three different brands of that product. For example: Select refrigerators and compare Maytag, Kenmore, and GE or SUVs and compare GM, Toyota and Ford.
Product Indicators should include, but are not limited to:
- Price
- Overall Quality
- Durability
- Warranty
- Life Expectancy
- Features
- Return Policy
- Flexibility of use at various stage of the family life cycle (i.e., addition of children, care for older adults)
Next… Determine which product would be the best choice and explain why. Remember cheaper is not always better.
Submit a fact sheet listing the product you selected and the retail store or Internet sites you visited. List the product indicators as shown above.
