Natalie Harmon, a 43-year-old mother of two, visits the urgent care of the regional medical center in her community. Natalie is interviewed by you (the registered nurse). Her

chief complaint is recent onset back pain, which has limited her ability to care for her children. She denies taking any medications or home remedies for pain before coming to the urgent care.

Initial assessment includes the information regarding the characteristics, quality of pain, factors that alleviate or aggravate pain. After the assessment, anxiety and acute pain are identified by the nurse as priority problems. Dr. Smith is notified and prescribed anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) medications, cold applications alternating with warm compresses at home starting today.

You are the registered nurse taking care Ms. Harmon.

4. Make the plan using the Template provided.

5. Your final project consists of two parts:

a) Written paper:

1) Introduction – Content information of the topic to be educated (as applies)

2) Teaching Plan (Template)

3) Conclusion (brief)

4) References (using APA 7th ed)

b) Oral Presentation

1) Use PowerPoint (recommended)

2) Use your creativity
