outlines

Write two one page outlines.

One of a professional journal article.  Example: go to the CDC.gov website and select any fact sheet on a topic of interest to you.  parkinson's, alzheimer's etc... Then they give you the fact sheet and about 10 articles from where that information was validated.  Read one of them! and outline it on one page.

2. read an article in the newspaper or magizine (it can be any topic!  Flu, preumonia, traffic deaths etc...) write one page outline of the types of information offered in this article.

Then write a paragraph or two comparing or contrasting what you found.
