In this journal entry you will reflect on immigration in the United States. Before starting this assignment review the following pages about Italian immigration to the U.S. in the late 19th and early 20th century. The Great Arrival, Under Attack, and A Century in the Spotlight.In your journal respond reflect on the following questions:

• Do you see any similarities between the stories of the Italian immigrants and discussion of different immigrant groups in the United States now? 
• Do you think that the characteristics of the immigration group matters when thinking about social acceptance?
• Do you think race/ethnicity has an impact on how society accepts immigrants? 
• How do you think race and ethnicity affects assimilation to the United States?
