In this module we investigated how organizations capture, store, and make use of knowledge using enterprise software solutions. Many of the jobs of today and tomorrow are part of the “knowledge economy” meaning that the need to locate, capture, retain, use, and share information is critical to organizational success. In this knowledge economy, every employee or organizational member has a role in knowledge management. Think about current or previous jobs you’ve held, regardless of industry or role. What did knowledge management look like in that organization? Then, think about the next job you would like to apply for. Brainstorm some ideas that you could implement in that position to prevent knowledge from leaving the organization.
