Write two social media posts and include graphics to promote your event at the Marathon. You can use photos, drawings, renderings, video, etc.

Writing: Respond in a timely manner

Keep it short –hard to read on smart phones and tablets –

Use language that is business like and conversational

Be careful of blunt statements

Use correct English and abbreviations

Avoid acronyms, slang, and social media lingo – LOL, LMAO

Use spell check but don’t rely on it

Send without an attachment if possible (especially to the media)

Do not cc everyone

Do not hit “reply all”

Do not send unnecessary e-mails

When sending to mass media, use BCC

Always read, re-read and even put an e-mail away for a few minutes before sending
