The American College of Thessaloniki MNGT 303-Events Management Instructor Anatoli Kapnidou Course project (60%)

Assignment paper up to 3.000 words, including bibliography (60%)

The assignment will examine an event, festival or concert that is scheduled soon

after the restart of the industry and discuss their management and marketing

strategies necessary for their success.

Students are expected to analyze and present an event that already took place (for

example Thessaloniki’s International Trade Fair) or being scheduled in the future

and

1) Describe the market framework in which the event takes place.

2) Examine how the sector and in particular the event responded to the new

market conditions (for example being Covid free events).

3) Evaluate how the event planning, the management and marketing strategies

were transformed.

4) Compare what happened in other similar events.

5) Support their findings from academic references.

6) Suggest possible future trends.

Evaluation criteria

1. Event identification, characteristics and case related information (15 marks)

2. Quality and depth of analysis of the marketing and management strategies (40 marks)

3. Use of additional pertinent literature and possible best practices from other

similar events (15 marks)

4. Presentation (30 marks)

Students are expected, while involved with the project paper,

1. To illustrate their knowledge on the theory (for example principles of

management and marketing for the event industry),

2. Awareness of the market conditions and the market forces formulating the

post pandemic event industry

3. Use of academic references to support their ideas

4. Use of secondary sources to examine how other similar events have decided their management and marketing approach

Re-sit assessment:

1. May have the same topic as the original one

2. Take into consideration the corrections/errors that have been

mentioned in class by the instructor

3. Will resubmit via email in given date
