Macbeth Appearance vs Reality Essay

I have to write an essay about Macbeth appearance vs Reality with a modern example. 

I have my thesis for my essay which structures as the following: 

In Macbeth, Shakespeare presents how one’s appearance doesn’t always reflect one’s inner self. This reality is still true today as this can lead to dishonesty, negative consequences and self conflict.

I have my quotes for dishonesty and consequences, but I can't think of a self conflict in today's society. Could you help me with this? Thank you
