LP737 Week 4: Constructive-Developmental Theories of Adult Development
Overview This week we turn our attention to "constructive developmental" theories of Adult Development. These thinkers see a role for "construction"--i.e. individuals actively making sense of the world and themselves -- as well as innate processes of growth and change, or "development."
We'll look at three key thinkers: Robert Kegan, Jane Loevinger, and Suzanne Cook-Greuter, and also read about a fifty year study of women's adult development that used Jane Loevinger's theory of adult ego development to help make sense of the findings.
