Scaffolding

 1. a. Find a recent news or research article related to learning or scaffolding (either learner or instructor perspective) and provide a summary of the article. This could include topics such as learning strategies for (kinesthetic/visual/auditory) learners, learning types, scaffolding strategies in the classroom, etc. Consider looking for research journal articles (e.g., Google Scholar), articles on news channels (e.g., CNN, Fox News), or reputable websites (e.g., American Psychological Association, Psychology Today, VeryWell Mind). Include a link to the article, as well. See example: /content/2025/7382357-20273000558S/Example article summary.pdf.

b. Provide an example of how this article relates to you -- is it a study strategy you use and for what types of material (e.g., studying for cranial nerves in A&P)? Is it a scaffolding strategy that an instructor used -- what made it effective?

c. Pose 2  critical thinking questions related to the content in Chapters 5-6 (each question should be about content from a different chapter). Page reference to the content is required for full credit.  The question should generate discussion with your peers and be open-ended (more than asking for just a yes/no answer or giving a statistic). For example, " Based on what we've learned about pain perception, why do you think something like mindfulness can be effective for pain management? How do you manage physical pain?" 

2. Respond to 2 of your peers with a thoughtful response, using critical thinking and integrating course-related content (must include page references to respective content in the textbook). Peer responses should be several sentences and more than just "good job."
