 One of the milestones of the Early Childhood period is when a child begins to attend school.  One of the requirements for a child to enter public school in the United States is that they have received and are up to date on their childhood vaccinations.  Whether or not to vaccinate children is a hot topic in US Healthcare.  Please engage in a thoughtful discussion this week on childhood vaccinations.  Discuss the Immunization Schedule that has been developed by the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  Discuss what vaccines are required for a child to be admitted to public school in New York State.  What are the guidelines for safely vaccinating a child?  What are the reasons for vaccinating children?  What are some of the public health implications for un-vaccinated children?  Are there are risks or side effects associated with vaccinating children?  What are your personal thoughts and feelings on vaccination of children?  Please cite all resources using appropriate APA style citations .
