Interview.docx

You are to write out a summary of an interview with someone by the name of Pat Williams (Black, African American Male, aged 24). Essentially, you are reporting to me what was discussed in your interview. You are NOT supposed to submit individual questions that were asked. I literally want a summary.

· SCENARIO: You have been assigned a case in which you are to interview a person. You are to choose someone that you know but not all that well.

The person that you will interview will answer your questions. You must inform the person they are allowed to lie to you if they choose. Thus, some persons will tell the truth 100% of the time and others will lie to you.   You will NOT be told if that person will lie or tell the truth; thus, in addition to questioning the person, you are responsible for observing any behavior that might elicit a deceptive answer to a question.

From this interview, you will ask the person anything you want. There are no limitations to your questions. However, the person may refuse to answer any question(s).  You are not to force a response. This is to simulate real interviewing in the sense that suspects do have the right to remain silent.  HINT: You need to take note of the questions if any, that the person refuses to answer. The key to interrogation is good socialization. YOU HAVE TO BE SOCIAL to be a great interrogator. Most of my interrogations at the Panama City Police Department started out with at least a 35 to 45 minute “get to know them session”. This assignment simulates that action. RULE OF INTERROGATION: You can NOT tell if a person is lying until you know them. You can NOT know a person without spending some good quality time with them.

After completing the interview,  you are to complete an “affidavit” or summary describing your interview in detail: Who, what, when, where, why, how, etc. This interview affidavit will be no less than 1000 words. Thus, you must be diligent in eliciting as many answers as possible.

The summary should NOT be a list of questions that were asked with the submitted answers. This type of submission will receive a zero.

The format should be the third person and typed in a police narrative paradigm.  You should begin with the basic interview information (place, time, etc.).

You are to SUMMARIZE the interview. Do not list out the questions and then the answers. In other words, essay format, but it does NOT have to be APA.
