Important Data Nearest weather station: Big Bear – In the Desert, Arizona Dates: 2007-2014 Number of Observations: 63,264 Wind data was collected, summarized and provided in the attached table. 

Design Requirements 

1. Develop a wind rose chart for Prickly Pear Airport based on the provided wind data. When analyzing your data, be sure to round your percentages to the nearest tenth of a percent. 

2. Based on the expected aircraft fleet mix, analysis should be done for 10.5, 13 and 16 knot allowable cross winds. Determine the optimal runway(s) bearing (true) and create a table of wind coverage for these three cross wind categories. Hint: You will need to determine if a crosswind runway is required. 

3. Use a magnetic declination of N 11°E in 2017 when naming the proposed runway for Prickly Pear Airport.
