Spend at least fifteen minutes in a public space, observing your environment. Using your five senses, take notes on everything around you, focusing on appearances, actions, and interactions, any speech you might overhear, and the feeling, look, smell, and feel of the space your subject inhabits.

After you have finished taking notes, as close to the observation time as possible, construct a narrative description of what you observed. Provide your narrative description for your initial discussion board prompt. This narrative does not have to be extensive. This is a fiction-writing assignment based on real observation and qualitative research. Due to safety concerns, do not put yourself and/or anyone else in danger. Also, be sure to social-distance if necessary.
