Initial proposal

The first assignment you will complete is the initial proposal. This is a one page paper that provides objective background information about your topic in the first paragraph. The source you used to gather the information should be cited in the paragraph. 

The second paragraph begins with your argumentative thesis. This thesis may change after conducting research, but you still need to have a strong thesis statement in your initial proposal. The thesis for your research paper may be an announcement. After your thesis, you should have a sentence or two that explains how you feel about the issue, then three guiding research questions and finally your rationale or the reason you chose this topic. This assignment is designed as a starting point for your research. 

The format is strict MLA, double-spaced, 12 font, Times New Roman with a Works Cited page at the end. An example is attached
