Individual Characteristics – Footwear Examination

Instructions for Practical 4:

Please review the case scenario and impressions then answer the questions. This is a form in word, so once you check the appropriate boxes, save your file as (ex: prac4_lastname) and submit the file through the assignment drop box. A good way to complete this exercise is to print the impressions out and draw directly on the impression images. Circle things that you feel are individual characteristics that are present on both the unknown (from the scene) and the standard impression (from the shoe).

Case scenario:

Crime scene detectives respond to a homicide. When the crime scene detectives arrive there are several impressions in blood around the body. The detectives process the floor with chemicals to develop the impressions. The impressions were photographed and submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Examine one of the impressions with the standard impression from the shoe and respond to the following questions.
