Assignment

The stigmas associated with mental illness and substance use disorders have created a barrier that prevents many people from receiving services.

In your post,

· Discuss how national legislation or policy efforts have helped or hurt the battle against these stigmas.

· Describe what can be done in the future from a national policy perspective to reduce these stigmas.

· Evaluate the steps you, as a human services provider, could take to ensure individuals needing mental illness and substance use disorder services have access to these services.

· Analyze the unique needs of these clients you would consider while planning services for them.
