please visit the  Art Institute of Chicago online and select one artwork to evaluate based on the elements and principles. This is called a formal evaluation, as it focuses on the form of the artwork, or how it looks to us. A formal evaluation, then, of a work of art, describes what we see using the language of the elements and principles. 

Begin with an in depth visual description of the work. What do you see? Next, using Chapter 2 as your resource, choose three elements of art and two principles of composition to write about regarding the artwork. Your choice! Write in full sentences, do not use bullet points. It is important to be specific in using the terms as identified in Chapter 2. Minimum 500 words (2 pages double-spaced typed 10-12 point).
